is an acclaimed jazz pianist, composer, arranger and educator. His touring career has taken him to six continents numerous times. In addition to touring regularly with five-time Grammy award winner Dianne Reeves and three time Grammy award winner Christian McBride, Peter tours with his trio on a regular basis.

Peter has deep roots in Jazz education, having studied at the Julliard School of Music under Martin Canin and then in New Orleans with Ellis Marsalis. Peter is a former member of the faculty of Jazz Music at Northwestern University and at Southeast Illinois University. Peter has had the honor of playing for President Obama on two occasions at the White House, in 2011 and 2012.

Several years ago, Peter started a video podcast called 2-Minute Jazz Piano which is a top music education podcast on Apple Podcasts and YouTube. At the request of piano players around the world, Peter started his own online jazz piano lessons site to focus on long form lessons, which eventually became Open Studio.

I consider myself a connoisseur of online lessons and Open Studio provides some of the very best I’ve found.
